New York Mayor-Elect Eric Adams Gifts Stephen Colbert Rolling Papers and Bag of Faux Weed on 'The Late Show'

Attempting to be cool, New York Mayor-elect Eric Adams gave Stephen Colbert a number of gifts during his Nov. 16 appearance on The Late Show, including two packs of rolling papers and a white packet containing what may or my not have been cannabis.

Adams: As you know, marijuana is legal. I have RAW..."

Adams: "I have RAW."

Colbert: I did not know. I am not aware, Mr. Mayor. I'm not into that scene.

Adams: "I have Bambu."

Adams: I have RAW. I have Bambu. (Reaches into his jacket pocket and takes out a white packet) And I can't give you this gift. I'll give it to you later, you know? (cackles)

Adams offers Colbert a faux bag of weed.

Colbert had no response.

Adams, who won the election in November, will replace Bill deBlasio in January.

We reported in June, prior to the primary, that Adams' website made no references to cannabis or criminal justice, despite statewide legalization signed on April 1. Asked during the June 11 debate the last time he used cannabis, Adams did not answer.

However, he did say, "I'm concerned about the marijuana laws altogether. These laws can impact on your behavior. It can impair your judgement."

Apparently, now that he's been elected mayor in the nation's largest city, Adams is changing his tune, and that's for the better.
