Weezy Goes to Jail
New York's Rikers Island prison will be Lil Wayne's home for the next year. The rapper was sentenced today on a gun charge from 2007. Here, Weezy smokes a joint and sips sizzurp (cough syrup and juice), something he likely won't be doing in Rikers.
The Dude Abides! Bridges Wins Oscar
Nearly 40 years after his first nomination, Hollyweed legend Jeff Bridges finally took home an Oscar Sunday night for his powerful portrayal of broken-down country singer Bad Blake in "Crazy Heart." In other Oscar news, "The Hurt Locker" upset "Avatar" in the Best Picture and Director categories.
NC Senator on Willie Nelson: 'Leave the Man Alone'
Charlie Albertson was so upset about the bust of one of Willie Nelson's tour buses and citations given to six people on the bus before a North Carolina show on Jan. 28 that he's written a song about it. "They should've let the man alone," the state senator sings. "Let him play and sing his songs."
Woody Harrelson Wins Spirit Award
Top CelebStoner Woody Harrelson took the Independent Spirit Award for his supporting role as Captain Tony Stone in "The Messenger." Other stony award winners announced Friday night were Jeff Bridges (Best Actor for "Crazy Heart") and the Coen Brothers' "A Serious Man."
Pentagon Shooter Was Twice Arrested for Marijuana
John Patrick Bedell, who shot two officers outside the Pentagon yesterday and was subsequently killed by police, had been arrested for cultivating marijuana in California in 2006. A self-styled Libertarian, Bedell's motives were unclear, though his writings indicate he opposed pot prohibition and questioned the U.S.' involvement in the 9/11 attacks. He was arrested for DUI and marijuana possession in February.
'Gossip Girl': Pills-a-Go-Go
Season 3 of "Gossip Girl" continued Monday night with a drug-fueled episode that features a jacket stuffed with pills intended for the French ambassador's daughter. Damien provides the product and Jenny does the sewing, but it's Serena who ends up unknowingly wearing the stony shawl.
High Times Rolls Out New Brand
Changes are afoot at the Green Lady of Park Avenue. High Times just launched a medical marijuana off-shoot magazine, promoted longtime staffer Dan Skye to executive editor and scheduled its first-ever U.S Cannabis Cup for San Francisco in June.
Pictures at a Hemp Exhibition
Thousands of stoners waited on long lines to attend the peak day of the 2010 HempCon & Medical Marijuana Show at the Los Angeles Convention Center on Feb. 20. More than 100 exhibitors and speakers entertained the overflow crowd. CelebStoner sightings included B-Real, Pakelika, Loudog and DJ Green Lantern.

The Mavs moved pot-head forward Josh Howard to Washington in a seven-player trade on Saturday. In 2008, Howard said, "Most of the players in the league use marijuana and I have and do partake in smoking weed in the off-season."

The Canadian Organizing Committee for the 2010 Winter Games is being accused of neglecting past Canadian Olympic medalists, including snowboarding champ Ross Rebagliati, who was temporarily stripped of his gold medal when he tested positive for pot in 1998. "It's a terrible thing," he says. "I would like to have been part of it."
Review: 'Alice in Wonderland'
"There’s plenty here to feed your head," writes Matt Chelsea about Tim Burton's 2010 version of the Disney classic, "Alice in Wonderland," which opened Friday. "The effects are amazing. When the hookah smoking Blue Caterpillar blows smoke into Alice’s face, the 3-D imaging makes it seem like you’re in the middle of a bong."
'Leaves of Grass' Trailer
Edward Norton stars in a double role in Tim Blake Nelson's "Leaves of Grass," which opens Apr. 2. Norton plays twin brothers Bill and Brady Kincaid. One's a professor, the other's a pot dealer who has a score to settle with Jewish drug kingpin Pug Rothbaum (Richard Dreyfuss). Watch the trailer.

Using footage from 1965 to 1971, Tom DiCillo tells the story of one of rock's greatest and most fabled bands, the Doors. Johnny Depp (who else?) narrates the doc, which opens April 9. Watch the trailer.

Sarah Silverman in 'Saint John of Las Vegas'
In her first movie role in four years, Sarah Silverman co-stars with Steve Buscemi in Hue Rhodes' "Saint John of Las Vegas." John (Buscemi) is a compulsive gambler who works for an insurance company. Jill (Silverman) plays the busty receptionist he gets involved with. It's an unlikely pairing to say the least. "Saint John of Las Vegas" opened Friday.
Marc Emery: Top CelebStoner
Newly elected Top CelebStoner Marc Emery is gearing up for the Winter Olympics, which takes place in his home town Vancouver from Feb. 12-27. "There will be pot at the medals ceremonies," he predicts. Hopefully Emery will be there to enjoy the festivities. The Prince of Pot is slated to be extradited any day to the U.S. to serve a five-year sentence for selling marijuana seeds.

Cypress Hill's New Joint: 'It Ain't Nothin'
On Apr. 6, Priority Records (headed by Snoop Dogg) will release Cypress Hill's "Rise Up," their first album since 2004's "Til Death Do Us Part." The initial joint, "It Ain't Nothin'," features B-Real, Sen Dog and Young Dee, who raps, "Ya gotta get your stash up" as B puffs a fatty. The biker-themed video, directed by Matt Alonzo, appears to be inspired by "Sons of Anarchy."
Hempilation Classic: George Clinton's 'U.S. Custom Coast Guard Dope Dog'
George Clinton was kind enough to contribute crowd favorite "Dope Dog" to "Hempilation 2" in 1998. It's of course the funkiest track on the album. "Never do he do a line in the line of duty," Clinton sings. "He's a dope dog."
Redman's New Joint: 'Oh My'
The first single from Redman's upcoming album, "9 1/2," benefits from a horn-heavy '70s sample. On "Oh My," Red name-checks "Kush" and raps, "I'm tryin' to smoke with Obama." It's his first solo joint since 2007's "Red Gone Wild."
Hempilation Classic: 'Under Mi Sensi'
After Brad Nowell died in 1996, Sublime's bassist Eric Wilson and drummer Bud Gough reunited to form the short-lived Long Beach Dub Allstars. Barrington Levy provides the vocals on this cover of his ganja classic, "Under Mi Sensi," which appeared on the 1998 NORML benefit cd, "Hempilation 2: Free the Weed."
Hempilation Classic: Willie Nelson's 'Me and Paul'
The cannabis-lovin' country singer contributed a live version of "Me and Paul" to "Hempilation 2: Free the Weed" in 1998. Originally recorded as the title track of Willie Nelson's 1985 album, it's about his road escapades with drummer Paul English. "Almost busted in Laredo," Willie sings, "but for reasons that I'd rather not disclose."
